To the Lighthouse

An Explorer’s Guide to the ISLAND LIGHTHOUSES of SOUTHWESTERN BC
by Peter Johnson and John Walls

Several years ago, volunteers with the Sheringham Point Lighthouse Preservation Society came up with the idea of creating a book about British Columbia’s iconic and storied lighthouses.  The project, driven primarily by John Walls, with Elanie Bruton and many others providing help and encouragement, went through various iterations and concepts.  Then, in February of 2014, Peter Johnson agreed to take on the task of writing the book, and it was also settled that it would be in the form of a guidebook.  Since that time, the work has been frantic, and on June 2, 2015, the book was officially launched at a gathering at Bolen Books in Victoria.

  1. Greetings, On page 196 you refer to Clarence Carver’s son Ray. A minor correction; his name is Roy. Roy, his daughter and myself are presently in Port Hardy having just returned from a visit to Kains Island and found your book in the Port Hardy museum.
